- Hockey Himachal is a permanent member of Hockey India, a governing body of field hockey in India.
- Hockey Himachal has been working dedicatedly to promote Hockey as a sport in the State and provide a platform to the players who wish to excel in the sport.
- Hockey Himachal has 6 teams, i.e. 3 Men’s and 3 Women’s team and every year they host 6 State Camps and participate in 6 National Championships. As many 150 players participate across the camps and championships.

An ardent sports enthusiast who has had his share of experience on the field and off the field has, Mr Thakur has taken Hockey to new heights. Being a youth icon, he is a source of inspiration for the youth and many players have taken up sports following his efforts in the State for promoting sports as a culture!

With robust experience of over 25 years in the field of Hockey, Mr Pathania has coached some of the finest Hockey players and Sardara Singh, Former Captain of Hockey Indian National team is amongst his prodigies. He has been associated with Hockey Himachal from the very beginning and started as the coach of the team. He continues to take keen interest in nurturing the players and his pro tips are much appreciated.
